Ureki sits in Ozurgeti District, about 60 kilometers north of Batumi. Unlike many pebble beaches on the Black Sea, Ureki has soft black sand with natural magnetic properties. People come here for the sea air, the warmth of the sand underfoot, and days with nothing much in them — the kind of slow week you go home from feeling looser, calmer and properly rested.
